Linko (“we”, “us”) runs a QR contact service for vehicles and belongings. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control it. It applies to our website, dashboard, and mobile app.
Contact form
When you send a message from the Contact page, we collect:
- Name
- Email address
- Subject
- Message
We use those details only to reply to your enquiry — orders, quotes, setup help, or general questions. The message is emailed to our support inbox at hello@linko.app. We do not sell it, add it to a marketing list, or show it to anyone who scans a Linko tag.
If you contact us by phone or WhatsApp instead, we will see the number and any details you send on that channel. WhatsApp is operated by Meta, so their terms and privacy policy also apply to that conversation.
Phone numbers
We may collect a phone number when:
- You place a Cash on Delivery order, so we can confirm and deliver your tag
- You add a number on your Linko profile (optional)
- You leave a callback number on a scanner call request
- You call or message our support line
Your phone number is never shown on a scanned Linko page. In-app calls and call requests are relayed so scanners do not see the owner’s number. Owners do not see a scanner’s number unless the scanner chooses to share a callback number.
Orders
Checkout collects your full name, phone number, delivery address, city, and postal code so we can fulfil Cash on Delivery orders in Pakistan.
Accounts
When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and a password (stored by our authentication provider, not in plain text). In Settings you may also add a nickname, language preference, and phone number.
Vehicle and sticker data
You choose which vehicle details — make, model, colour, plate, and photo — appear after a scan. Plate and photo stay hidden until you turn them on. A sticker is linked to your account only after you claim it.
Scanner activity
People who scan a tag can send messages, photos, voice notes, location, issue reports, help requests, or emergency alerts. We keep those submissions so we can deliver them to you. We store an anonymised hash of the scanner’s IP address to detect abuse. We do not store raw scanner IP addresses.
Photos, voice notes, and location shares are kept for about 30 days, then permanently deleted.
Emergency contacts
If you add emergency contacts, we store their name, email, and relationship so we can notify them when someone triggers an emergency alert on your sticker.
How we use information
- Provide Linko (accounts, stickers, scanner contact, and orders)
- Reply to support and quote requests
- Detect abuse, spam, and fraud
- Send the service notifications you choose in Settings
- Keep the product reliable and safe
We do not sell personal information.
Sharing
We share information with:
- The infrastructure that hosts the app and database
- Email delivery for support and account mail
- Couriers, for Cash on Delivery orders
- You, when someone scans your sticker and contacts you through Linko
- Emergency contacts you designate, for emergency alerts only
We may disclose information if required by law.
Cookies and sessions
We use cookies to keep you signed in. A scanner session cookie lets someone continue a conversation after a scan without creating an account.
Your rights
You can:
- Review and update your profile in Settings
- Export a JSON copy of your account from Settings → Privacy & data
- Delete your account from Settings → Privacy & data (type DELETE to confirm)
- Ask us to access, correct, or delete a contact-form or order record by emailing hello@linko.app
Children
Linko is not directed at children under 13. Do not create an account or submit a form on behalf of a child under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of Linko after an update means you accept the revised policy.
